Yes, the Matrix employs violence but it's a Hollywood flick meant to entertain, not art meant to provoke questions about assumptions, a deeper examination of issues, or a serious critique.

Heath Ledger collaborated with Modest Mouse on King Rat, an animated music video depicting a world where humans get harpooned by whales. The video, produced by The Masses and released in August 2009, is now available at iTunes. The video can also be viewed online at the masses, myspace, offUhuge... Even though the ending could be improved (the video was finished after Ledger's death) and the title is othering, this video is often surprising.
